Riding on the via Francigena
The route : It’s a 31 km. (partly off road ) circular loop (up to 44 km. optional for more advanced
riders) that follows the footsteps of the ancient pilgrims who were walking along this itinerary
towards Rome since the High Middle Ages.
During this ride we will be passing evocative medieval villages and partly abandoned Romanesque parish churches.
Skill level : intermediate
Highlights : The famous medieval town of San Gimignano and the medieval village of Colle Val
d’Elsa. A guided visit at the cellars of a local winery with wine tasting of Vernaccia di San Gimignano
Departure from Firenze : 09:00 am (back at the hotel before 6 pm)
Bike tour starting point : Fosci, at 45 minutes’ drive from Firenze.
Price : €600 per party (to be splitted among the participants for guide and driver service, plus € 20 per person for mountain bike rent, plus € 15 per person for wine/olive oil tasting of 3 wines and appetizers.
Note: up to 3 people € 350 per party : in this case the biking guide lead the group with his own car. (Plus other services)
